MEET IVANA

THE HUMAN
BEHIND the
HOUSE

"Being human is not a flaw. It is the sharpest instrument you have."

IVANA SUBOTIC-GALJER, FOUNDER OF HOUSE OF QUOTIENT

Welcome, fellow thinker,

My name is Ivana. I built House of Quotient because I needed a place to bring everything I had learned the hard way under one roof, and to share it with others.

I know what it’s like to belong nowhere and everywhere at the same time.

I grew up between two countries, two cultures, two religions, two languages. Over time, it became my second nature to see everything from multiple angles at once, to spot connections that seem illogical at first glance and to build something new out of things that seemingly do not go together. The mental stretch to oversee the whole and the details at the same time forms the basis of how I work now.

For years, I used that same agility mostly to fit in. You know, the kind of fitting in that looks effortless from the outside but quietly drains you from the inside. Adapting felt like a major flex. What I did not see was that it was also a blindfold. Until I started running into walls: in my work, in my body, and in parenting two children who are uncompromisingly themselves - and who confronted me daily with how profoundly I had lost sight of being me.

So I wiped the table clean and started laying the puzzle all over. On top of my scientific training and MBA, I spent years in commercial leadership, until a persistent, gnawing feeling took hold and pulled me toward a larger quest(ion): how can people lead a worthy life from their intrinsic value, in the world we are collectively building?

The answer came, on top of my own lived experience and that of my family, through education in motivation science, giftedness and breathwork, alongside training in developmental psychology, attachment theory, parenting, trauma-informed work and somatic practice.

By means of total immersion, I wanted to create bridges between myself and the world, scientific precision and the multi-faceted human experience, thinking and feeling and everything in between.

What shaped this practice the most was not stacking more knowledge, but sharing it: in conversations, in sessions, in my own life, in the lives of people who came in. One conversation led to another. People brought friends, who brought new stories. There was food and laughter, wine on the table, the occasional guitar, and an evening that ran long because no-one wanted to leave a room where everyone was finishing each other's sentences and wondering aloud why it had taken so long to find one another. That table is still there. There is always room for more.

In our work together you can expect a combination of warmth, directness, and humor. We aim toward precision, not simplification. I will not soften a sharp observation, nor will I push you in a direction you do not want to go. You are the expert on your life and the pilot in the process. My role is to co-navigate and to challenge when it serves you.

House of Quotient is built on this foundation.

The walls are robust, there is plenty of light, inside it’s warm, even with no ceilings attached.

The door is open. Come in.

What’s in a name?

The word "quotient" is mathematical in origin: the result of a division, an answer to the question "how often does X fit into Y?". Beyond mathematics, the word has taken on a broader meaning: the degree to which a particular quality is present in something or someone - and with that, implicitly, the idea that nothing stands alone but is always part of a larger whole.

The most familiar application is IQ: originally calculated as mental age divided by chronological age. The calculation has evolved significantly since inception, yet IQ remains synonymous with a number that claims to capture intelligence. The irony is that after more than a century of research, science still cannot agree on what intelligence actually is. Definitions range from abstract reasoning and problem-solving to creativity, emotional insight, self-awareness, and the capacity to adapt to new circumstances. All of them human attributes that cannot be reduced to a single number, all of them part of who you are as a whole.

House of Quotient is a tribute to human capacity and variation in all its forms, a nod to cognitive science and a quiet rebellion against reducing people to a metric. This is a home for everything that is in you - and for everything that can come out of it.
